Don't Listen (2020)

Image
Don't Listen is a Spanish supernatural horror movie that came out in 2020. How I Watched: Netflix  (may change in the future) TL;DR This movie is about a family that moved to a new house but is plagued by sadness and misfortune starting with the child. Little 8 year old Eric hears voices and a lot of paranormal things that seems to affect his life both at home and in school. Things take an unfortunate turn when Eric passes away from a tragic accident. The grieving father seeks out a paranormal expert and his daughter to investigate his creepy haunted house and a potential malovent spirit. It's a really tragic movie that pulls at your heartstrings because of the deaths and especially the ending. I went into this movie thinking it was going to be another typical jump scare paranormal/haunted house kind of movie but I think this one is a more mature version. I low key wished there was some comedic relief but there is literally devoid of any laughs or smiles

Fear Street: Part Two 1978 (2022)

Image
Fear Street Part Two: 1978 is an American horror movie that came out in 2021. This is a part 2 to the Fear Street trilogy. I originally posted about  Part One: 1994  back in August. My writing skills is definitely all over the place so...yeah. Off topic but yes, I didn't make my 31 Days of Movies streak. Very busy last couple of days. I was also working on a  My Foreign Movie Google Spreadsheet  that's a constantly updating work in progress. Open to the public as a READ ONLY version. Ideal if you're country specific for horror movies. Separate sheets for USA movies and TV Shows. Will also be linked in the  side bar for future reference. You might even catch me live updating 😂 The events of this movie takes place immediately after the events of the first movie. So please, watch or read about my post of the first movie in order to get up to speed 👍. Not really recommended to watch as a stand alone but you could if you want. I mean, I once watched the last half

Bhoot Part 1: The Haunted Ship (2020)

Image
Bhoot Part 1: The Haunted Ship is an Indian psychological supernatural horror movie that came out in 2020. TL;DR This movie is about a big ass ship that washes ashore and upon investigating the why's and what's of it all Prithvi has to face the demons of his past and of others.  Not to be confused with another Indian horror movie of the same title but actually came out first in 2003. I already find that weird. I mean that definitely explains the officially longer movie title but why not just name it something else??  Anyway, this movie starts off with an extremely huge ship that washes ashore. Almost immediately there's first casualties as a young couple take a ride on the wild side jump the boat but they ded. Don't worry guys, Prithvi is in the case!! I did like the beginning intro of the movie because it basically took notes from that YOU KNOW WHAT notable scene from Up! (the everyone claims to cry like a baby over) and gave us some insight to

Body Melt (1993)

Image
Body Melt is an Australian black comedy body horror film that came out in 1993. TL;DR This movie is about a city with residents who are unknowingly the lab rats of a pharmaceutical company's testing of a new drug. You are going to be in for one hell of a truly trippy ass movie should you ever choose to watch this film. I don't say that lightly. Anything with body horror associated with it is automatically guaranteed to twist your insides. The movie poster looks way more serious than the actual movie which can be a good thing if that's what you're looking for and want some comic relief which I absolutely needed after watching Atroz (and I'm surprised I never got any nightmares from that movie yet🤞) Body Melt is endearingly goofy yet still a mindfuck but simulatiously also acts as a social commentary which people firmly believe has been happening IRL on a global scale (obviously not nearly as horrifically dramatized as this movie). LoL that's how I ca

Eyes Without A Face (1960)

Image
Eyes Without A Face is a French horror/drama movie that came out in 1960. TL;DR This movie is about a father who holds a grisly secret to help his daughter's disfigurement recover in the aftermath of a car accident.  Everytime I thought of black and white media my mind always went straight to The Twilight Zone. Because that's what I grew up watching. Hard to believe it there was a time before internet (millennial here!) but I was a teenager when internet was in its infancy and my only access to internet was through that prehistoric AOL dial-up service when video streaming wasn't nearly as popular as it obviously is today.  Needless to say, I wasn't dependent on the internet whatsoever for watching any movies or TV shows. I spent a lot of time IRL being a couch potato watching dorky stuff on cable TV like the History Channel and Discovery (back when it showed ACTUAL GOOD QUALITY PROGRAMS). My favorite channel was Sci Fi, of course. I looked forward to 4th of

Under the Shadow (2016)

Image
Under the Shadows is an Iranian psychological horror movie that came out in 2016. TL;DR This movie is about a mother and daughter who are targeted by a supernatural demon during the already war torn Iran amidst the attacks from Iraq. Taking place in the 1980s lives a family smack dab in the middle of Tehran during the Iran-Iraq war where people still live in fear from the frequent missile strikes. Iraj, who is the patriarch of the family, gets called to duty far away as he is a doctor and has to doctor...people. Before he leaves, we see the tension between him and his wife, Shideh, not seeing eye to eye in varying topics. But nonetheless he departs from his family much to his dismay that Shideh shot down his wishes to stay with his family after a damn near 100% confirmation that their area is targeted for the next missle strike. Dorsa, the only child, gets told by a neighboring boy about the Djinn and gave her a charm to ward off the demonic forces but Shideh ye

Wicked City (1987)

Image
Wicked City is a Japanese adult anime neo noir horror movie that came out in 1987. Based on the book Black Guard by Hideyuki Kikuchi. TL;DR In a world of darkness there exists a demonic alternate dimension that has a peace treaty with the human world. Some bad shit happens. Like almost all movies on this blog, I went into this movie BLIND. It's a very trippy movie but it was definitely what I was looking for when I sought out a horror anime. Oh, it was horror alright. AND THEN SOME. This movie is about Taki and is taken in for a shock when he finds out that the lovely woman that invited back him back to her place is apparently one of the Radicals from the alternate dimension known as the Black World. What a wacky intro... Taki later gets tasked with a partner to protect Giuseppe Mayart who is a target for these Radicals due to his role in ratifying the aforementioned treaty and let's just say a lot of fuckery happens along the way. Doesn't help that

Atroz (2015)

Image
Atroz is Mexican horror movie that came out in 2015. TL;DR This movie is about two men who are apprehended after a traffic accident and police unearth a camcorder which documented their extremely grotesque murders. The extent of all it will be listed in the disclaimers at the end of this post if you want to skip my dramatic word vomit of a novella. Atrocious. That's the English translation of Atroz. Even then that doesn't begin to describe this emotional rollercoaster of a movie. You know, I'll often scour the internet for my next idea on what to watch for my next movie viewing which led me to stumble upon Atroz through Reddit but specifically r/DisturbingFilms. I am shook to the motherfucking core. I have to absolutely be extremely selective in what screenshots to post because this film is definitely beyond grotesque with graphic depictions of the most mortifying murders and assaults. This past year has honestly been my reintroduction to horror movies as I was

Paganini Horror (1989)

Image
Paganini Horror is an Italian horror movie that came out in 1989. TL;DR An all girl rock band basically plagarize an unpublished work of violinist and composer Niccoló Paganini which triggers a murderous appetite for revenge. In the beginning this movie we have the girls in the studio recording a song and I shit you not, it is a direct rip off of Bon Jovi "You Give Love A Bad Name" which came out just less than 3 years before this movie. No, it doesn't sound like it. IT IS IT! Down to the minor riffs and the melody it is so laughable but lyrics were obviously changed.  I'm surprised my Shazam app didn't recognize it. I must admit, hearing a female version of it, it's such a banger 💕 If you want to judge for yourself (for the unfamiliar)   Compare Bon Jovi  >-----TO-----< the Girl Band in Paganini Horror LoL So anyway back to the movie. Their manager voices her displeasure of their track. Practically saying their music ain't s
