Cannibal Ferox (1981)

Image
Cannibal Ferox is an Italian exploitation horror film that came out in 1981 in the language of English. How i watched: Tubi For the short of it: This movie is about a woman accompanied with her brother and friend in the depths of the Columbian jungle to see if a cannibalistic tribe is even cannibalistic. The long of it?  I found this movie out on a whim just browsing through Tubi and the title seemed enticing so why the hell not?  So this movie starts off with an almost unnecessary scene where this random dude just strolls around to and heads up to his buddies' residence. Instead of his friend, he is met with 2 other mysterious men who are looking for said friend and end up murdering the poor feller. Cops come by shortly after for the crime scene and talk amongst themselves about the why's and what's. They intend to track down the girl that lives there as it is said she is currently out of the country. He expects a full report of her whereabouts to get to the bo

Train to Busan (2016)

Image
Train to Busan is a South Korean zombie action horror film that came out in 2016 in the language of Korean. How I watched: Amazon Prime Video For the short of it: This movie is about a father and daughter boarding a train in the middle of a zombie outbreak and it kinda sucks.  You want the long of it? Well... I've definitely heard about this movie for a VERY long time and I can't tell you why I never got around to watching it despite it being on my to-watch list for lordy knows how long. Alas, I was finally able to finally sit down and watch it. What the fuck was I thinking waiting this long?! So this movie is about a father who is separated/divorced from his daughter's mother. They don't seem to be on civil terms as one of the few times she makes an appearance (through phone) it is very condescending. He's your typical run of the mill overworked monkey-suit wearing dudes in which his need for work often comes at a consequence when he misses

Old People (2022)

Image
Old People is a German horror movie that came out in 2022 in the language of German. How I watched: Netflix For the short of it: This movie is about old people with murdah on the brain. The long of it? Heh. So this mother and kids plan to make a quick stop in town for their Aunt Sanna's wedding. It's on this house in the middle of nowhere. That's not the creepy part, shaddup. The REAL weird thing about this movie is that the kids notice how there's like nothing but old ass people around here. Just from driving around town, they look so...catatonic but they're still walking talking people. Maybe not so much talking but at least they're walking. Mother, her son Noah, and Sanna drive over to pick up gramps from the home and this kid gets the heebie jeebies just looking at all these old people in these weird mannerisms.. But since this town is full of them, I guess everyone is just desensitized  or just chuck it up to old people problems or w

Rakkhosh (2019)

Image
Rakkhosh is an Indian psychological horror movie that came out in 2019 in the language of Hindi. How I watched: Netflix For the short of it: A man inside a mental institution is convinced an evil spirit is responsible for the disappearance of patients. The long of it? Kill me now. Fun fact: This is India's first horror movie to be filmed through the point of view of our main character. Yes, you read that right. Rakkhosh is a movie seen entriely through the first hand perspective.  Taking place in a mental hospital, the patient whom we never get to see the face of is a 20 something Birsa is seen looking for his friend, Kumar John. Kumar John is a much older patient that resides here with the 2,000+ patients but also shares a belief that there is some paranormal entity responsible for the killings inside this institution. Throughout this movie is Birsa trying to navigate through the WTFs of not only being in this decrepit looking place but the corrupt treatment the st

Cat Sick Blues (2015)

Image
Cat Sick Blues is an Australian horror movie that came out in 2015 in the language of English. How I watched: Rental via Amazon Video For the short of it: Guy with a few screws loose kills women in the name of his precious floofy. The long of it? Holy hell. I honestly don't know where to begin. I actually came across this movie from a Reddit thread and the name itself sounded pretty intriguing for a horror movie. However, I couldn't seem to find it ANYWHERE, I even had it on my to-watch list for months hoping it would be added to some legit streaming sites (my pirating days are long behind me) so I just sucked it up and rented it on Amazon. Wasn't even costly just $1.99 as the cheapest option. But holy shit what a strange movie. Cat Sick Blues centers around this man named Ted who has this toxic obsession with his deceased cat, Patrick. It's cool and all to love your cat but Ted takes this love to an unhealthy level of attachment towa

Baskin (2007)

Image
Baskin is a Turkish surrealist horror movie that came out in 2007 in the language of Turkish. Based off a  short film.   Not a bad idea to watch it first. 2 of the actors reprise their role for the full length movie, too! Optional but highly recommended. How I Watched: Tubi For the short of it: Responding to a plea for help, a group of officers enter the realm of nightmares. The long of it? Well...  So there are these police officers that have a jolly good time at a local restaurant where they are just, what the hip kids call it these days, shooting the shit. Just drinking and having very NSFW conversations if you know what I mean. This scene pretty much goes on longer than it should have but carry on. One of the officers ends up getting mindfucked because he saw something spooky in the restroom but he soldiers on. Just creepy foreshadowing is all. Back in the road, they receive a distress call for backup in the town of Inceagac. The mindfucked police officer who is now

Qorin (2022)

Image
Qorin is an Indonesian horror movie that came out in 2022 in the language of Indonesian. How I watched: Netflix For the short of it: This movie is about a boarding school where the students are tricked into summoning their evil dopplegangers. The long of it? Well... So as mentioned above, there is this boarding school for teenaged girls that seems pretty normal and totally nothing nefarious but Zahra is then introduced to this new girl, Yolanda. As she's showing Yolanda around, it's apparent she's more urban oriented from her red highlights and asking about the Wi-Fi which could hint why her mother sent her there to begin with. She meets Zahra's other friends, Gendhis and Icha whom are just normal and friendly girls, so like, you know, whatever! Umma and Jaelani are the prefect, which I guess means the teachers/superiors of the school. It is noted that every time they are to come in the same room as a prefect it is always started and ended with the phrase "Peace be
