The Cannibal Club (2018)

Image
The Cannibal Club is a Brazillian movie that came out in 2018.  How I watched: Tubi I honestly don't know what to label this movie as. The Tubi description had this movie under Horror/Comedy. I can guarantee you this is NOT a comedy. I think I chuckled once and it was a smart ass remark from one of the characters. Not sure if this qualifies as horror? It's definitely full of raunchy ass gore I can say that much! And I mean that literally. This movie follows a wealthy childless husband and wife who live in a seaside mansion that has a horrible fetish for luring their live-in handsome male caretakers to be seduced by the wife while the husband secretly masturbates to and right before he climaxes, he barges in the room to bash his head in. They later eat the remains for dinner or whatever. This movie really cut to the chase lol Definitely the opposite of a slow burner in my opinion. With an endless supply of desperate men's need to work, Otavio and Gild

Dracula.3000 (2004)

Image
Dracula.3000 is a South African-US science-fiction thriller movie that came out in 2004. No relation at all to Dracula 2000 (the one with Vitamin C who also sang that  Graduation Song  that used to be hella popular for its time)  Incoming pic heavy post.  How I watched: MovieSphere  (See Note Below) Not gonna lie, this movie is pretty terrible. It's a Made-For-TV movie need I say more? Consider this more of a Coolio appreciation post since he has recently passed away in late September and I literally found out yesterday he was in this silly ass horror movie. RIP Coolio This movie is about a salvage spaceship that approaches a 100-year abandoned spaceship, Demeter, and they all take a little looksy inside intending on towing it back to Earth. They immediately find a dead ass corpse clutching a crucifix that conveniently only the captain knows what it is. He explains that it's a sacred object of Christianity and everyone else is like "Ch

Demonia (1990)

Image
Demonia is an Italian horror movie that came out in 1990. How I watched: Shudder  It's also on Tubi but I didn't want ads I've noticed it's a lot more difficult to find 80s or 90s movies on Netflix nowadays. Most of the stuff is usually 2010-2022 which I kinda get. Out with the old in with the new? It's still possible though, as mentioned above the same applies here: look a little harder for it. There's also free alternatives like Youtube (duh) and  Kino Cult  which is a free vintage horror streaming service. There's 24/7 livestreams and of course on demand library full of cool gems. Check that out if you'd like. It launched late last year. (And no, not sponsored lol I literally discovered it last week) I digress, on with the movie... Demonia is about this one young archaeologist named Liza who attended a seance and has weird visions of nuns being crucified and burned to death which led to her fainting. Professor Evans, her former

Chhorii (2021)

Image
Chhorii is an Indian supernatural horror movie that came out in 2021. A remake of 2017's Lapachhapi.  How I watched: Amazon Prime This movie is about Sakshi and her husband Hermant that have a rude awakening when her husband is beat up in their own house by goons stemming from an unresolved debt. An associate of his just as quickly has a solution for them. They accept a proposal to take temporary refuge in a remote village until Hermant can get his shit together. Oh and did I mention that Sakshi is like EIGHT MONTHS PREGNANT?! They basically have no choice so they take off as the goons promised that they will come back in 24 hours to slaughter the entire family. Well, they didn't necessary say THAT verbatim but they totes implied it. In order to reach the house, they have to go from their cushy bustling city life to a tiny ancient dwelling in the middle of bumfuck nowhere surrounded by super tall crops. A woman that goes by Bhanno Devi is an elderly mother that take

Memoir of a Murderer (2017)

Image
Memoir of a Murderer is a South Korean thriller movie that came out in 2017. Based on the book A Murderer's Guide to Memorization by Kim Young-ha. TL;DR A murderer with Alzheimer's. That's it. That's the movie. 😎 How I Watched: Tubi (Availability may change at any notice) Couldn't put my finger on it but I didn't have high hopes for this movie when I first saw it. After reading the brief plot it just came across like it would be like a 2 dimensional plot with overly theatrical yet arrogant diatribes (Dexter, anyone?) Alas, I came out the other side the complete opposite. It's a pretty great movie, actually.  And I'm gonna tell ya why. This movie is about Byeong-soo who is a serial killer that has developed a type of dementia after a car accident, but he has flashes of his killer past slowly bubbling up to the surface. He is single father with an adult daughter named Eun-hee who takes care of him and frequently has to fetch him fr

Anatomy (2000)

Image
Anatomy is a German horror movie that came out in 2000. TL;DR Medical student stumbles upon some secret illdoings of anti-hippocratics.  How I Watched: Tubi (free!) Availability may change in the future Not a bad movie I tell ya what. A classic movie about medical students, dissection and MURDER. Nice.  Even as a German movie I couldn't escape hearing Fatboy Slim at the start of the movie 😖. I remember late 90s/early 2000s their single "Praise You" was played on MTV 24/7 and was frequently used in movie trailers of that time. Needless to say, this song really takes me back. Not in a good way. I couldn't stand the fucking song. But I'd still choose Fatboy Slim over current day's bullshit music is spitting out. I definitely do miss when music like this and rock music ruled the charts back then...  So anyway, this movie starts off with Paula, a medical student who scores high in a contest which lead to being accepted to a prestigious summ
