Year in Review: 2023

Hola welcome to my 2nd annual end of the year retrospective where I look back at all the movies I posted about into one big round up as I give my final thoughts as we usher in a new year for new movies.  For the year of 2023 I managed to post 51 movies of various languages but a sizable chunk for da motherland of the US of A. As I prepared for this post I revisited each and every blog post and at times even rewatched the movies themselves. Just remember, this list is not that deep. I'm not as well versed in the horror genre as well as I thought I was. There are some legit real die hards out there so this is just from an average joe perspective. So without further ado, new year, new graphics; let's get into our Horrortized award winning movies..kidding obviously. Those are useless as fuck. Some may have ties as I will try to at least mention every single movie. I also added a few more categories from last year but that being said some didn't make the cut so let's jus

Sint (2010)

Sint AKA Saint is a Dutch (Netherlands) horror movie that came out in 2010 in the language of dutch. How I watched: Tubi for subs (AMC+ for dubs) For the short of it: The rare, rare full moon on December 5th triggers the real Sinterklaas to unleash havoc in a small town. The long of it? Coming from the Netherlands, I was quick to find yet another interesting Christmas themed foreign movie as I was making my list of potential watches for the week. I admit, the only reason I picked this movie is because it's foreign so sue me. Also, the movie poster looks lit as fuck. Just for a primer, as I had to get privy to it myself, this is based on Sinterklaas which is the Dutch version of Santa Claus which also means that they celebrate Christmas on December 5th rather than 25th for deez Americans that I unfortunately identify as. Just a few key differences but some similarities as well. They have their own lore and stuff with that rooted in innocence and Saint Nicholas so there.

Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale is a Finnish fantasy horror movie that came out in 2010 in the language of finnish. This is my 100th post!!! Awesome so here's to 100 more! How I watched: Peacock Premium For the short of it: In the mountains of Korvatunturi a young boy finds the truth behind the real Santa Clause along with the nightmarish lore. The long of it? I honestly didn't think I could easily find a horror Christmas movie that was actually a foreign movie but alas, twas a swift Google search away. I'm thinking for the month of December I'll do 3 Christmas-themed movies a week and end the year off with a retrospect post. Like last year.  So let's get into this movie. This movie takes place the day before Christmas. In the beautiful mountains of northern Finland lies a small community of reindeer hunters and their families. This movie starts off with 2 young boys, named Pietari and Juuso, being the little nosy kids they are managed to eavesdrop on American/Britis
