Fear Street: Part Two 1978 (2022)
Fear Street Part Two: 1978 is an American horror movie that came out in 2021.
This is a part 2 to the Fear Street trilogy. I originally posted about Part One: 1994 back in August. My writing skills is definitely all over the place so...yeah.
Off topic but yes, I didn't make my 31 Days of Movies streak. Very busy last couple of days. I was also working on a My Foreign Movie Google Spreadsheet that's a constantly updating work in progress. Open to the public as a READ ONLY version. Ideal if you're country specific for horror movies. Separate sheets for USA movies and TV Shows. Will also be linked in the side bar for future reference. You might even catch me live updating 😂
The events of this movie takes place immediately after the events of the first movie. So please, watch or read about my post of the first movie in order to get up to speed 👍. Not really recommended to watch as a stand alone but you could if you want. I mean, I once watched the last half of Season 4 of Dexter before I watched the series from the beginning so there's that.
So this movie immediately begins with Deena and Josh at C. Berman's house because they want to help the possessed girlfriend, Sam. Hey now, first gather round as grown up C. Berman tells us a campy story....in the 70s!!!!
She reluctantly shares her account of how she survived the camp Nightwing Massacre in 1978. It was rather rocky since she was accused of being a witch and was briefly tortured. That's just brief background, the point of this was that Ziggy (Sadie Sink) isn't well liked and is basically a pariah at the camp. She has an older sister, Cindy, that sorta has her back but they have an extremely rocky sisterhood so not much help there either.
Things take an abrupt turn when the nurse goes apeshit and tried attacking Tommy, Cindy's boyfriend. Which is spoooky foreshadowing duh!
Tommy got possessed which started a sad chain of events which led to the killings of dozens of people there.
Overall, I think I like this movie more than the first one. Just the overall acting. I was just rolling my eyes so much at the first movie and in the begining and ending scenes they appear in. I didn't as much with the 2nd movie. Then again, looks like this is geared as a teen slasher film so.... Fair enough!
Music soundtrack still holds up!
The flow of the movie wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The movie definitely kept my attention and was pretty entertaining. I didn't even mind the split sorry since the sisters went their separate ways (not by choice lol) so there was separate side plots for a while. Quite a bit of slaughter though. But yeah. Quickie post, sorry.
If this movie had a message, what would it be?
STOP BLEEDING ON RANDOM SHIT!
Age demographics? Totally for teens .
No disclaimers.
That being said, what is my verdict?
Delightfully bloody.
