Terrible Tuesdays

Yeah, not doing these anymore while the blog is on hiatus. Will watch at my own pace and once all my ducks are in a row, it will be resumed.

Join this silly goose as I traverse the r/DisturbingFilms subreddit while I make an attempt to go down a semi-extensive list of so-called disturbing movies. I browse that community a lot and while I have watched a small number of movies circulated on there there are still MANY more that I have not become acquainted with. For the time being I will dub thee: Terrible Tuesdays where I will just pick a probably more intense-filled movie than usual and just give my grievances about it. Almost all of the movies featured on this blog I have watched for the first time unless otherwise noted so this blog is more like my own internal dialogue as I go through the WTF's of these mostly foreign horror and not so horror movies.

The Paper Dolls (2023)

The Paper Dolls is a Chinese horror movie that came out in 2023 in the language of chinese mandarin. This movie goes by multiple titles, see the end of my post for elaboration. How I watched:  Tubi For the short of it: A journalist researches the truth behind the deadly paper doll folklore. The long of it? Have your clean set of chonies handy... Lovely day to have eyes, I tell ya what. This is why it pays off to have a cool looking movie poster because this absolutely stuck out to my ADHD ass for my next viewing and boy oh boy I am totes glad I did choose this. So this movie is centered around a journalist named Lu Xiaosheng who is researching the folklore surrounding paper dolls whom has the superstition one's soul can be inhabited post mortem. Some 20 years ago there was an old tale connecting the Qiao family and these paper dolls with a very frightening and murderous history. Cannibal Holocaust is an Italian found footage film that came out in 1980 in the language of English and Spanish. How I watched: AMC+ channel on Amazon Prime Video Disclaimer: If you are already aware of this movie then skip my post lol I provide nothing profound. New to this movie? I highly suggest you to check out   Ryan Hollinger's   video on it. He breaks it down better than me. And this dude said it himself he doesn't even like this movie. Just here to write a post just to say I watched it. Don't care about either of the above? Then read on... For the short of it: This movie is about filmmakers who go missing and eerie found footage reveals their fates. The long of it? Get ready, man.
