WTF kind of name is "Horrortized"?

Cringe name, I know! I spent a lot of time googling up names for a blog that wasn't previously taken. Something short, to the point and easy to potentially remember that has a horror vibe to it for potential audiences. It's supposed to be a combo out of the words "horror" and "traumatized". I still think it's a stupid name but I already established the blog so cope.

Is this a movie review blog?

No. I originally described myself as a movie review blogger but I have since browsed other horror movie blogs it made me reevaluate my vision for this blog in general. I just plain don't have the articulate connoiseur vocabulary to be confident enough to call myself a reviewer from this point forward. Nowadays, I just want to be known as a chill blog that just so happens to come across a movie that piqued my interest while giving you a brief summary about it. 

Didn't you have an Instagram?

I used to have one for like the first 6 months I created this blog but it got like way too overwhelming. I noticed I spent way too much time on Instagram and it overwhelmed me so much where it was causing me more turmoil than it was worth so I chose to step away and wipe my account. My account still exists but instead of deleting it I decided to keep it private and dormant just in case I want to make a return. 

What made you decide to make this blog?

I wanted to do something productive with the free time I do have. I was watching a movie on the Comet channel and that was when it hit me: Hey, why don't I just write about shit I have seen? Bam, here I am. In retrospect, this is probably not productive but I wanted some routine in my life so why the fuck not? I probably should better spend my time learning a new language or enrolling in online classes. Not a bad idea. Por que no los dos?

Why so many blogs?

I know I didn't mention it but I have created many blogs in the past. Sometimes I'll just get an impulse of a random idea for a blog and then I uh...blog. Nothing fancy. On fucking Blogger for christ sakes but I actually like utilizing Blogger, what of it?! 

Why do you watch all these movies all the damn time?

I honestly don't. I prefer tv show over movies and currently, I only post 2 movies a week so that means I don't really binge on movies much, actually. 

Why don't you focus on something more productive then?

I honestly should. I don't intend on doing this blog forever since it is just me behind this stupid blog and I thought it is something fun to pass the time. 

Why do you specifically concentrate on foreign movies?

I am honestly not a hardcore fan of the more mainstream American horror franchises like Halloween, Chucky, or Friday the 13th. Sacrilege, I know right! I suppose my taste in movies has evolved over time. I thought it would be a totally cool idea to bring attention to other foreign horror movies. Actually most of these movies have been my first time watching as well. So you are practically along with the journey with me as I seek out other potentially good movies.

Why do you end each post with a Metal Band of the Day plug?

What I love more than movies and tv shows is music. Particularly melodic death metal bands that has always intrigued me since I was in high school how varied bands from other countries sound. When I was on Instagram, I thought one way for my profile to stand out was to showcase a metal band from the same country as the horror movie I was posting about that day in my IG story. Once I no longer was on Instagram, I decided to make a new sister blog and just plug in the link at the end of the post. Simply put, because I want to share more cool new bands as well as movies.

What makes you decide to watch a certain movie for your blog?

Multiple ways, actually. Sometimes I'll say it in the post. I'll actively browse catalogues or even take note on various lists. If it sounds interesting, I'll add it on my watchlist and maybe I'll eventually get to it. I have since created a personal Google Sheet to help me organize. 

Why are some posts shorter than others?

I'll sit through and watch the whole ass movie and I literally don't know what else to say so I just keep it short and sweet. I'm aware some posts have more of a personality than others. I do intend on updating many of those posts too. It's just that sometimes I feel like I want to curl in a ball and die but what keeps me going on is using this blog as a distraction to keep my mind occupied until I feel better again.

How come some post are missing certain sections in other posts?

In my early posts I did experiment to see what fit my blog and I eventually realized maybe it no longer suited my vision for this blog and ceased using it. I'll eventually update all my posts with it. I may add more stuff in the future. For example, I originally wanted to add a graphic with a spin wheel at the bottom of the post to suggest which movies featured on my blog that you might want to watch. I'm still trying to figure that all out but that's just one of the many. 

Why don't you post more?

I realized I am probably not as much as a big movie buff as I thought I was. I still would like to write about it once in a while. Of course, that could definitely depend on how much I like said movie. However, to hopefully give this blog a boost, I do intend on doing my annual 31 Days of Horror Movies as a nice goal for me. It will take months and months of prep but I like setting goals for myself. 

WTF is this 31 Days of Horror Movies in October you speak of?

You totally read right. For every mother fucking day in October I will aim to post about a movie for every single day in that month. I'm well aware I said I am not a huge movie lover as I originally thought I was but that doesn't mean I won't watch movies. It's more of a matter of me getting interested in a movie. Some are boring as fuck. That's why it will take months for me to prepare to have at least majority of the posts scheduled and good to go before the party even begins. 

How come you aren't making a post on (random popular movie here)?

I've watched many movies intended to post here that ended not happening due to a lot of reasons. I only have access to so many streaming services so sometimes I swear I'll come back only to find it got removed. Other times, I just get so bored out of that movie I rage quit. Sometimes I'll even finish the movie and not care to write about to. That includes popular horror movies too. I often find the mainstream horror movies don't even scare me much at all so I go on to search elsewhere.

Is there any way to contact you?

So far no. It may change in the future depending how I feel. In the meantime I would like to stay mostly anonymous. If you find me than that's cool. I'm kind of an idiot so I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to find me.

Do you have any social media?

I'm generally not a fan of social media. I'm one of those pessimists who thinks all forms of social media is toxic as fuck so I mostly stay away from it. Should anything happen to this blog bookmark my backup blog. Easy to remember. There's literally nothing on there unless my main blog gets shut down.

Will you ever put ads?

Nah. Firstly because I doubt my blog will ever get huge amount of view to warrant that. Secondly, I get annoyed when I browse similar horror blogs with annoying as fuck ads. I won't knock their choice for it at all but I would like to provide an alternative to those who may not want to deal with ads. Unless I get a 1 million views a month then nah, no ads on this dumb blog.
