Piggy (2022)

Image
Piggy is a Spanish horror movie that came out in 2022 in the language of Spanish. Based on  this short film . Might want to watch that first. More info down the post. How I watched: Hulu  For the short of it: This movie is about a teenager who is relentlessly bullied but things take a disturbing turn leaving her with a moral dilemma after witnessing something grave.  The long of it? Well... Just wanted to get this out of the way but this movie is really something. I watched this last night and I was still in awe of the direct impact of the social commentary of this movie that I was lying awake in bed for hours just dwelling on it. You can say it "shook my shit" up. Absolutely not for the faint hearted. Please heed this warning if you have any kind of weight issues/disorders.  Sara is our main character and is obese. She helps her family run this butcher shop in this small town community of Extremadura, Spain. She has extremely low self esteem in which

Kuntilanak (2018)

Image
Kuntilanak is an Indonesian horror (and sort of) comedy that came out in 2018 in the language of Indonesian.  For the short of it: this movie is about these kids who find out that there is a ghost in a mirror that traps children so they do shit about it.  Please see my update at the bottom of this post. The long of it? Well...  So this movie starts off with a small family of 3. Actually, the mother died so it's really 2. The young son named Anjas grieves his mother's death but becomes an unwitting victim to an entity that takes form of his mother. Soooo actually it's now a family of 1.  After this intro, we are now centered with this family. A woman has adopted 5 children, all vary in ages from 5 to 12 if I had to guess. All of these kids have a very distinctive personality to them which is totally endearing. So one day she has a family meeting with her kids and tells them she is going to fuck off for the rest of the movie to visit people she is ACTUALLY blo

Inside (2007)

Image
Inside is a French horror movie that came out in 2007 in the language of French. How I watched: Tubi Hey there fellow reader, are you pregnant? Are you sensitive to movies mixed with horror and pregnant women? If the answer is yes then stay the hell away from this movie. If you are in any way squeamish in general of gore and maiming, then, uh this movie is definitely not for you. I also would not recommend reading further. In fact, if anyone even says INSIDE as a suggestion for movie night, then cut connections off with that person for da rest of your life. Mother be damned. Also I must stress to you that this is the FRENCH movie. There is a completely unrelated movie from the USA also called Inside with Willem Dafoe. Different movie and not nearly as gnarly. Yeah, this is a crazy one I have ya today. This has also been a recurring title I would come across when looking up threads on what's the most fucked up kind of movie. For the short of it: Inside is about a woman w

Black Roses (1988)

Image
Black Roses is a Canadian horror movie that came out in 1988 in the language of English. How I watched: Shudder via Amazon Prime (see note at the end of post) For the short of it: People be losing their shit when a popular rock band tour in a small town with diabolical results. The long of it? Well... People are totally stoked when they find out the fictional band Black Roses chooses their small ass town to be the first leg of their tour for 3 nights. By that I mean angsty highschoolers. The "boring" adults who reside in a highly conservative religious community are protesting against such an act of Satan.  If you say so Stacy Olsen lolz Meanwhile, there was a discussion in English Lit class when all of a sudden talk of Black Roses comes up. This long lost Olsen sister speaks up that they will nevah stahp da rock!! And old people suck. However, later on on the night of the 1st night of the concert the mayor along with others initially wanti

Wither (2012)

Image
Wither is a Swedish horror movie that came out in 2010 in the language of swedish. How I watched: Tubi Today is a movie that adds on to yet another vacation gone awry. If you're not burned out of those type of movies then by all means, hang tight for the ride. Here we meet a 20 something couple oh so madly in love. Barf. They are wanting to go on a little getaway trip with some friends and the girl (?) parents suggest for them to go fuck off to their cabin in the woods that's abandoned for some reason. Did they literally just think of that cabin?? Why would they keep this knowledge to their damn selves the entirety of the girl's existence and just randomly bring it up when she's all adult and shit? But hey, plot points. They immediately round up their moderately big group of friends that for some reason has gender segregation between those 2 cars and away they go! Not before Ida cautions her blond gal pal to stay away from her brother, Simon, whom has a reputation f

Ragini MMS (2011)

Image
Ragini MMS is an Indian found footage horror movie that came out in 2015? in the language of Hindi. How I watched: Netflix Since this is a movie on Netflix, I will talk about spoilers so avoid the signs if thou doesn't want to be spoilt. I repeat: Not a review, more of a recap. I came across this movie as a Last Chance. I actually remember adding this to my To Watch list but I just never got around to it. Apparently, Netflix sends you emails when movies on your queue when they are on their way out. Enough of my procrastinating, might as well give this movie a watch before it gets yeeted and then who knows where it would be available next, if at all. Wish I would have wrote posts on past Netflix series for example Killer Girl K. I did watch this mini series and enjoyed it but after it got taken off Netflix, I haven't been able to find it streaming anywhere since since this came out the same year as this movie. Found the first episode on Youtube so that's consolation. I d

Martyrs (2008)

Image
Martyrs is a French horror movie that came out in 2008 in the language of French. I know saying the language sounds redundant but there are many foreign films in languages I totes have never heard of before You literally cannot escape any "What's the most disturbing movie?" thread without the mention of Martyrs. It was definitely among a short list that was consistently mentioned. Which is totally why I didn't get around to watching it for years. I finally did.  This movie is absolutely not for the faint hearted. Well duh just looking at that movie poster alone. So if you want the short of it: This movie is about 2 women who escaped being brutally tortured as children and return to the house as adults.  SPOILERS! Will vaguely talk about practically the whole movie. Won't happen in every post. So this movie starts out very disturbingly happy. We see this family of 4 eating breakfast having your run of the mill picture perfect settings of a h
